Arcade Fire in Birmingham

Arcade Fire in actie!

Thanks to Luke, we could attend a concert of Arcade Fire in Birmingham. Arcade Fire is a band from Canada/USA that is very promising. Their show was great, the audience got so enthusiastic that the atmosphere was excellent. Such a pity they were put in a small corner of "The Academy", where no more than 100 people could stand in. While a few days earlier they played for 2000 people in Manchester!
Things were getting cosy, but it didn't stop people from jumping and screaming the lyrics or sounds that they recognised. Even people not knowing the band were clearly enjoying the show. Their music is creative, and I loved the presence of the violins. In case you're interested: On the 11th of May they play in Paradiso, Amsterdam, and the day after in Nighttown, Rotterdam. Hurry for the tickets though, they are sold out quickly.
See my pictures for more pictures from this fun weekend in Birmingham with Jon, Catriona and Luke. We spent half a day in Birmingham and then went on for a short visit to Stratford-upon-Avon. Very Shakespeary and touristy.
