good days in the Peaks
We took advantage of the nice weather these days, and head out to the peaks.
First a day of bouldering at the Roaches, a bit further away, but a beautiful spot to hang out, climb or boulder. The boulders are very friendly - starting at a low level - that's what we need! Click here for pictures.
Second, a day hike on Bleaklow, just north of Kinder Scout. Free roaming on the moors is hard work, but the most deserted, barren land that in good light one would almost call beautiful. We encountered some curious objects on our way too: a plane wreck from the Fourties that just shows how tricky the moors are when covered in fog, and a reservoir the size of a garden pool in case of a fire (we reckon it might extinguish about 4 square metres of the acres of moors.. i guess every little bit helps!). Pictures here.
ps. check out Jon's beard :)
